Bamboo plywood is stronger and harder wearing than most hardwoods. Bamboo's tensile strength is 28,000 per square inch versus 23,000 for steel, and the material is 25 per cent harder than Red Oak and 12 per cent harder than North American Maple. It also has 50 per cent less expansion or contraction than Red Oak.

The bamboo boards are untreated and this allows for a choice finish, such as a wood oil or varnish. If you plan on using them in areas where there is splashing and moisture, such as the kitchen or bathroom, we recommend applying a waterproof adhesive to the back of the panel. It is also necessary to apply a protective coating to the front surface such as Danish Oil, for less wet areas or several coats of varnish in high traffic wet areas. The natural shade allows for wood dyes to be applied as shown in the photos.
Seal with a top coat of clear varnish – acrylic base is best.
